Opened in Molina de Segura's new Mental Health Center Doctor Vicente Campillo (23/02/2009)

The opening ceremony of the new Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation Unit / Psychiatric Day Hospital Doctor Vicente Campillo de Molina de Segura has taken place on Monday 23 February.

Attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Minister for Health of the Region of Murcia, María Ángeles Palacios Sánchez, Councillor for Health, Lola Vicente Quiles, and Dr. Vicente Campillo Rodríguez.

This new health resource Mental Health is located at Avenida Gabriel Prisons, No. 2 (near the Health Centre Professor Antonio García García), in a plot donated by the city of Molina de Segura.

The work has been performed by the construction company Construction and Maintenance Alcube SA, under the direction of the architect Juan Jose Garcia / Aranda Fish.

The total cost of the work has been of 1,825,000 euros, and on the equipment of 110,000 euros.

The building has a floor area of 1,450 m2 on the ground floor and first, and has also a basement of 650m2.

Space allocation by plants is as follows:

Ground Floor (Center for Mental Health and Opiate Treatment Unit): Reception / Administration /

files, 2 lounges, 14 queries, 1 Consultation / Administration of opiates, 1 control urine / toxic, 1 living room group treatment with observation / teaching, 1 meeting room, staff changing rooms, toilets.

Floor 1 (Rehabilitation Unit / Day Hospital): Front / files, 1 room waiting, 4 queries, 1 bathroom group treatment with observation room / teaching, 4 therapy rooms multipurpose toilets, warehouses, 1 dining room / kitchen / office , and 2 terraces practicable.

Basement: for parking.

It also has several stores / archives.

The new Mental Health Center consists of 2 units (Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation Unit / Day Hospital), distinct and independent, but coordinated with each other, attended by a skilled multidisciplinary team to address the various health care programs.

The launch of the new CSM is also to enhance current treatment programs (programs for adult and infant / uvenil) with better facilities and more professionals, initiating programs Drug Addiction, Rehabilitation Day Hospital and the Home Care Program, which were missing in the health area.

ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

Mental Health Network of the Region of Murcia is organized by various welfare programs, and in the Mental Health Centre de Molina will work together to care programs, Adult, Infant / Youth, Drug Addiction, Rehabilitation, and Hospital by Day

The Adult care program is organized and operates in relation to mental health of the general population over 16 years, residing in the health care area, must meet the needs of prevention, early diagnosis, counseling and treatment of problems psychological and psychiatric problems of this population, as well as related rehabilitation work.

The program Infant / Youth should cover the population aged up to 15 years, residing in the health care area, and like in the Adult program, must meet the needs of prevention, early diagnosis and treatment guidance psychological and psychiatric problems of this population.

The Addictions Program is a specific program that is organized and acts with reference to people with substance abuse and dependence on alcohol and illegal drugs.

Should equally cover all the needs identified in previous programs.

The Rehabilitation and Reintegration program is an essential part of the assistive devices, having as main purpose to achieve the highest possible level of recovery, normalization of behavioral and psychosocial integration, avoiding the marginalization that involves loss of mental health.

The Day Hospital Program is an assistive device for active treatment of mental disorders in solitary day, acting on the clinical picture presented by the patient for improvement, the disappearance of symptoms and partial remission or total.

In conjunction with this program, our region has begun to implement the Assertive Community Treatment in the home care program, in which a team of professionals (psychiatrist, nurses, social workers) visit the patients' homes to try to standardize active psychiatric symptoms and optimize the completion of treatment.
