The Department of Health of Molina de Segura organizes a program of activities to commemorate the first World Day for Rare Disease (27/02/2009)

The program of activities to commemorate the first World Day for Rare Diseases, organized by the Department of Health of the City of Molina de Segura, together with the Foundation for Medical Studies Molina de Segura (FEM), the Official College of Pharmacists Murcia and La Caixa, has been presented at a press conference on Friday 27 February.

The presentation was attended by the Councillor for Health, Lola Vicente Quiles, and Secretary of the Medical Research Foundation Molina (FEM), Josefina García Lozano.

On Friday 27 February, there will be a special live programming from Radio Company, which includes a chat with the assistance of Health Councilwoman Molina de Segura, a person with a rare disease, a family physician in the township health centers and a member of the Medical Research Foundation Molina de Segura.

On Saturday, February 28 marks the 1 st World Day for Rare Diseases and for that reason the city of Molina de Segura held various events to commemorate this event and raise public awareness to a problem that affects many families in the municipality:

From 10.00 to 14.00, in Paseo Rosales, will install an information table, with the presence of health professionals, patients and families and associations of the municipality, collecting signatures to join the Pact for Rare Diseases.

From 10.00 to 14.00 hours, there will be a live connection with Onda Cero Radio program I give you my word, presented by Isabel Gemio.

At 11.00 pm in the College of Education Child Paseo Rosales, Dr. José Ángel Meeting Berciano with patients and relatives.

At 19.30 pm in the College of Education Child Paseo Rosales, Conference on Current Overview of Hereditary Ataxia, given by Dr. José Angel Berciano, Chief of Neurology, University Hospital Marqués de Valdecilla (Santander) and Professor of University of Cantabria.

19.00 / 21.00: Caixa Bus Pick-up from relatives of people with rare diseases in Molina de Segura and neighboring municipalities.

Subsequent family meeting with Dr. José Ángel Berciano.
