The association ism Molina de Segura and Caja Madrid have signed an agreement for the school support students with disabilities (12/05/2009)

The signing of the agreement between the Association of Physically Handicapped Vega Molina de Segura and Media (DISM) and Caja Madrid for the development of School Support Project to Students with Disabilities took place today Tuesday 12 May in Press Office of the City of Molina de Segura.

The event was attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, President of DISM, Josefa Martínez Pérez, and the Director of the Office of Caja Madrid in Molina de Segura, Spain Mariano Palazón.

The draft SUPPORT SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES TO seeks to introduce a series of tools to achieve improved quality of life for children with physical disabilities in Molina de Segura and the rest of the Vega Media (Lorqui, Ceuta, Las Torres gossips and Alguazas).

The association held DISM this new program for children with physical disabilities

for free.

It will provide a personalized therapeutic treatment to those families who have a child with a physical disability and who, having low income, no access to private clinics, thus leaving their children unattended in need of specific attention.

Therapeutic intervention is based on physical therapy exercises, motor skills, speech, psychological, and cognitive stimulation in order to achieve a better psychomotor development and language to enable them to move as independently as possible, act on its immediate environment and communicate without the slightest problem with others.

These objectives will mark the project.

The specific objectives of the project are:

Maximising knowledge development and motor skills of the child affected by a physical disability.

Avoid possible atrophy muscle groups used just due in most cases to problems of mobility.

Sensory ability to motivate through feelings and relationships between the body and the outside (the other and things).

Cultivate the perceptive capacity through knowledge of the movements and body response.

Establish communication links and relationships with adults and peers, through oral and body language to express feelings, desires and needs.

It is expected that 25 families participating in the program, although the number of claims is higher, so it will continue to admission criteria that give preference to those whose situation requires treatment with more urgency.

The user profile is: children from 0 to 14 with physical disability assessed by the team of educational psychologists, or through the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration, from families with scarce economic resources prevent them afford treatment in private clinics.

Project funding is provided by the Caja Madrid, which provides $ 10,000 through this agreement, and the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Migration in the Region of Murcia, which provides another 10,000 euros.

For its part, the City of Molina de Segura DISM has yielded to a local development program located in the Neighborhood Community Center of San Miguel.

The Association of Physically Handicapped Vega Molina and Media (DISM) was founded in 1981 as an initiative to address the problems posed by the group of physically disabled.

Its main objectives

are

social integration of physically disabled,

and therefore

improving their quality of life.

It forms part of the

Murcia Federation of the Physically Handicapped (FAMDIF / COCEMFE MURCIA), which

in turn, is integrated into the

Physically Confederation of Spanish (COCEMFE).

Currently continues to support and defend the rights of more than 300 families with a physical disability from the town of Molina de Segura and the Vega Media, information and advice on their rights and social resources they can access and offering technical support to resolve any situation that presents everyday life.
