The Community and the city of Molina de Segura recovered a treadmill eighteenth century declared of Cultural Interest (20/05/2009)

The director general of tourism infrastructure, Marina Garcia, with the mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras, today inaugurated the wheel of Carlos Soriano after its restoration.

La Noria, which dates back to the last decade of the eighteenth century the farm belonged to Don Carlos Soriano had in El Llano de Molina.

Located on the canal Subirana, one of the two forming the irrigation system of the formerly called Vega de Molina.

The restoration and refurbishment has had a budget of 445,447 euros from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the City of Molina, under the technical direction of Miguel Angel Molina Espinosa.

The wheel was recently declared of cultural interest as a matter of monument.

At the time of its construction, the structure must be wood, material that following the general rule of other wells in the valley along the twentieth century had to be replaced by an iron structure and was active until a few years ago.

The wheel is a radial structure of rolled steel, formed by profiles together with screws, divided into twelve sectors with twelve spokes on each side and four blades per sector.

The shaft has been built in high strength steel, and for rolling bearings have been used oscillating double roller for long operating life and low maintenance cost.

A surround channel, forked, collects water wheel elevated by seven meters to direct it to the pipeline that leads to the garden of El Llano.
