Twelve students of the IES Vega del Tader Molina de Segura have traveled to France from 23 to 31 May to attend the 20th International Festival of Theatre School in French Didascalia de Grasse, with a staged performance of Carmen, based on the novel by Prosper Mérimée in Georges Bizet's opera.
Festival organizers are Didascalia Association, the Institute Fenelon, the city of Grasse, the French Ministry of Education and the General Council of the Alpes Maritimes.
Participating groups have been selected by the jury in terms of educational and artistic criteria.
460 young performers have come from Germany, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Tunisia and several cities in France, with a total of 22 theatrical performances.
Molinense students were the only representatives of Spain.
Carmen's show has received good reviews and praise ("a very refined staging," "some actors very into their characters and bringing the share of the burden of drama", "respect for the classical plot," a good diction, "" beautiful traditional costumes, "" good elements of scenery, "" perfect environment ").
All foreign students and some French are prepared during the week a street theater performance titled Passages of the future (proposed solutions to current problems), which was presented on Friday 29 in the Plaza of the Bishop of Grasse.
There have been two parades through the streets of Grasse, where the flags of Spain, Murcia and Molina de Segura have flown to the rhythm of drumbeats, drums and other music.
The meals have been in high school canteens and school.
Dinner in restaurant, catering garden, public square and in the school courtyard.
The accommodation was in a Family Holiday Village, situated in a pine forest across from the hospital in Grasse.
Spanish students are: Andrea Clemente Ibáñez, Javier Coll Mateos, Laura Fernández López, Pablo Hernández García, Miriam Hernández Pérez, Charo López López, Alba López Sánchez, M ª Dolores Marín García, José David Rodríguez Lozano, Juan Vicente Ruiz Ruiz, Gonzalo Serrano Gomariz Vicente Martinez and Marina, who have prepared this theatrical representation throughout this school year with teachers Mondéjar Loli García Jiménez and Pedro Ruiz.
