The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, today visited the offices of area Day Care Center Senior Social Molina de Segura, whose work to reform the Autonomous Region has invested 178,866 euros.
The work has been done on the ground floor of the Senior Center, which has 9,481 members, so that he can satisfactorily perform the functions of Day Care Center, which serves 20 users.
Day Care Service was inaugurated in September 1998 and its management was awarded to Messengers of Peace.
With the current reforms have created zones and services, including geriatric bath and toilet for the disabled, appropriate to the characteristics of the beneficiaries.
The Senior Social Centre de Molina was launched in May 1974, and conducts occupational activities such as ballroom dancing, mass choir, theater, folk group, gerontogimnasia and swimming and other recreational trips and excursions, workshops coexistence, tributes, board games, sports tournaments and participation in local festivals, and cultural activities such as lectures, conferences, exhibitions and competitions.
It also provides its members services such as hairdressing, chiropody, library, information and guidance in social work.
Last 2008, the Department invested in maintenance and equipment 248,257 euros, while for the current year the number stands at 399,406, including 178,866 of the reform.
During the visit, the Minister was accompanied by Mayor Molina, Eduardo Contreras, the managing director of IMAS, Miguel Angel Miranda, director general of the Elderly, Paloma Recio, and the Director General of Pensions, Assessment and Inclusion Programs, John Brown, as well as the center's director, Asunción Capel.
