The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Vice President of the Committee on New Technologies and Information Society of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), has participated in the Fourth Meeting on Telecommunications and Local Governments, which held on 29 and 30 June at the Palacio de Congresos de Madrid.
Linares Contreras has participated in the session titled The deployment of telecommunications infrastructure in the municipal public domain.
Organized by the Telecommunications Market (CMT), and with the collaboration of the FEMP, this forum has become part is configured as a space for study and debate on the impact of local public policies in the development of electronic communications involving all sectors.
In March 2006, took place
Accession by the Plenum of the City of Molina de Segura to the Partnership Agreement signed between the FEMP and the Association of Electronics, Information Technology and Telecommunications of Spain (AETIC) for the deployment of Radio Communications Network Infrastructure, and Code of Practice.
In May 2008, was published in the BORM the deal final approval of the municipal ordinance regulating the installation and operation of radio infrastructure, approved en banc dated April 14, 2008.
For the preparation of this ordinance were taken into account the provisional draft of the FEMP Ordinance as well as models of similar ordinances from other municipalities.
This was debated within the New Technologies Committee of the City Council, a multidisciplinary committee where members of different political groups and members of neighborhood associations, and technical personnel from different areas.
At present, this ordinance has been appealed by the mobile operators.
