Medical Research Foundation of Molina de Segura (FEM) presented at a press conference today, Friday October 2, the next conference of scientific (number 42), to be held in Molina de Segura (College auditorium Child Education Paseo Rosales) on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at 20.00, with free entry, under the title The new flu and other epidemics of the century, led by Dr. Manuel Segovia Hernández, Chief Microbiology of the Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca of Murcia and Director of the Regional Unit of Tropical Medicine.
The conference is organized by the WEF, the city of Molina de Segura and the Hospital de Molina, sponsored by the Caixa.
The presentation was made by Lola Vicente Quiles, Health Councillor of the City of Molina de Segura, Sunday Menchón Serna, Chief of the Emergency Hospital de Molina, and Josefina García Lozano, Secretary of the EMF.
Natural de Salamanca (1954), Manuel Segovia Hernández studied medicine at the University of Salamanca.
He graduated as Doctor of Medicine in 1983 and Specialist in Microbiology and Parasitology in 1982.
It is also Academic Number (Medal No. 11) of the Real Academia de Medicina de Murcia (2004).
Since 1996 Professor, Department of Genetics and Microbiology, University of Murcia.
It has over 100 publications in scientific journals and more than 100 papers in scientific meetings and conferences.
He also is principal investigator on 37 projects funded by national and international organizations and serves as advisor to the Science and Technology for Development (STD) of the European Union.
The Councillor of Health has sent a "message of reassurance to the citizens of Molina de Segura in relation to the impact of the new flu in our town, because so far there has been no need to fret disturbing case.
