The "Prevention Week" ends after training in prevention and self-protection to more than 1,300 people in Molina de Segura (03/10/2009)

The "Prevention Week" was closed yesterday with a balance of more than 1,300 attendees to the acts that have been done in Molina de Segura since 28 September.

The fire station on the basis of CEIS Molina was the venue for the Feast of Prevention ', attended by 300 people, mostly primary school.

The CEIS troops prepared for the occasion different exercises of their daily tasks such as rescuing injured in traffic accident, fire extinguishers or practices rappelling from a tower.

This event served as an end to a week of talks, lectures and exercises aimed to sensitize the population on prevention and self-protection.

Specifically, they have been over 1,300 people, including schoolchildren, housewives, neighbors and Civil Defence volunteers, trained by firefighters with talks on self Consortium school and at home.

Above all, remember the manager of the CEIS, Mariano Sanchez, "has been vital work with children because they learn what they transmit to their environment."

Specifically, in addition to raising their own talks this week has had practical exercises aimed at children such as the mock rescue of the Canine Rescue Unit of Civil Protection of the City of Molina de Segura, the evacuation exercise IES Vega del Tader or play 'The Fortune and a fireman attended by 400 students.

"The aim of the conference was to give people more information so they can fight against emergencies that will arise and given the influx of people we have had, we feel we have reached our goal," he recalled at the close of Luis Francisco Martinez, Technical Director of CEIS.

The Consortium, together with the Government of Molina de Segura, the Technical Association of Professional Firefighters and the Mapfre Foundation have been the promoters of this event in the coming months that will travel fifteen other Spanish cities.

The CEIS

The Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue Services of the Autonomous Community of Murcia (CEIS) is a public entity owned by the Autonomous Community of Murcia and 43 of the councils of the region (all but Murcia and Cartagena).

Emergency cover 87 percent of the regional territory and 54 percent of the population of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.

In order to intervene in emergencies to be declared in all the municipalities in the region, the CEIS are fifteen fire stations distributed throughout the Community, 150 vehicles and 335 effective intervention.

The parks are located in the towns of Yecla, Jumilla, Cieza, Caravaca de la Cruz, Mula, Molina de Segura, Sewer, Alhama de Murcia, Totana, Lorca, Aguilas, Mazarrón, La Manga, Los Alcazares, Abanilla and Fuente Alamo (the latter under construction).
