The Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness Molina organized the first training day on Mental Health Supervision (14/10/2009)

The First Conference Training: Mental Health Professional Monitoring, organized by

Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness of Molina de Segura (AFESMO) have been presented at a press conference Wednesday Oct. 14, in the Plenary Hall of the City molinense.

The presentation was attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, President of AFESMO, Delia Topham Reguera, Councillor of Social Welfare, Worship Molina Lopez, Head of Training and Research General Directorate of Planning, Health Planning and Pharmaceutical Research and Murcia, Francisco Molina Durán and Professional Social Worker and Supervisor Antonio Galindo Lucas.

The recipients of these days are twelve AFESMO professionals who receive training from November 9, 2009 to January 25, 2010 (1 coordinator / director, 3 social workers, a social educator, three psychologists, two workshops and two instructors responsible Administration).

The content will have a theoretical and a practical, divided into:

The role of mental health professional.

Professional supervision in mental health: Basic concepts and types.

Individual case management.

Extending theoretical and clinical monitoring of individual cases.

Where will collect practical experience.

Oversight of the organization: the team and the institution itself, AFESMO.

Practice of professional supervision sessions (practical).

Practice monitoring and evaluation.

The theoretical and practical sessions will be held on Mondays, fortnightly, from 09.00 to 14.00 hours, coinciding with the team meeting that takes place in the association.

They will be in a room donated by the Centro Las Balsas.

"In our experience and professional work over more than 10 years of intervention with families and people with mental illness from AFESMO see every day the need for the care of professionals dedicated to it, as well as oversight of our work to prevent burnout and increase the quality of our attention to this group.

We therefore believe it necessary to conduct these 1 second training day Mental Health Oversight, "said the President of the association, Delia Topham.

The burnout syndrome corresponds to a psycho-emotional syndrome that occurs in individuals whose work involves the attention and care of others.

Describes a type of prolonged stress and institutional professionals who have generated a list of help and care for others.

It is a disease with high prevalence among health professionals in general and mental health in particular.

Professional Supervision is an activity or set of activities of a person to monitor and / or directing the work of a group of people to make them most effective and mutual satisfaction.

It is, in a systematic process control, monitoring, evaluation, guidance, advice and training to achieve improved staff performance, increase competition and ensure the quality of services.

The presentation of these early training sessions coincide with the week of events organized around World Health Day Mental every year is celebrated on 10 October.

AFESMO claim has among its objectives, develop and create the resources and services needed to achieve integration and psychosocial rehabilitation of people with mental illness and their families.

The idea for this partnership arose from the interest and need urgent and sincere group of parents and professionals who wanted to promote new initiatives, public awareness and fill those gaps that the Administration of State and the Autonomous Communities were not covering ( regarding people with mental illness and their families), from the point of view of the social needs of people with mental illness.
