The Secretary General of Prisons, Mercedes Gallizo, today signed an agreement with the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras, which will allow those sentenced to work on behalf of the Community in the Region of Murcia to meet as this county.
The City offers 125 beds in tasks such as support for the study of students in high school, construction supervision, plant maintenance, security, cleaning and maintenance of buildings and gardens, file documents, notices at home, preparing the street, concierge, topographic measurements , administrative work, leisure and cultural activities and cooking, among many others.
So far, Molina de Segura Murcia is the town that offer more seats for the performance of this measure.
Jobs for the Benefit of the Community are alternative sentences to imprisonment imposed by the judges in the case of minor offenses, especially violations of the Road Safety Act, such as speeding, driving without a license or driving with a high rate of alcohol.
When a person is sentenced to a term of this type, interviewed by prison social services, after receiving the sentence, to know their personal characteristics, their ability to work and social environment, staff and family to determine the activity more appropriate.
In this interview you will be offered to different places available and hours of work, which never exceed eight hours per workday.
This information, with the consent of the prisoner, is provided to the council, which may accept or reject candidates, according to their endpoints.
The work will not be paid in any case.
