The agreement between the Association of Relatives and Mentally Ill of Molina de Segura (AFESMO) and the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Migration in the Region of Murcia has been signed, on Tuesday 17 November, in the Plenary Hall of the City molinense .
The event was attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, the Social Policy Adviser, Women and Immigration Bascuñana Joaquín García, President of AFESMO, Delia Topham Reguera, the Managing Director of Social Action Murcia Institute (IMAS) Isabel Sola, and the Councillor for Social Welfare, Worship Molina López.
The purpose of the agreement is the grant by the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration of a subsidy amounting to 300,000 euros to the association AFESMO to finance the construction and equipping of a Day Centre for People with Mental Illness Chronicle, whose works were started last October.
For its part, AFESMO contribute another 100,000 euros to implement the first phase of the project.
The new Day Care Centre is built on a plot of 3,213 m2 municipal, assigned by the City molinense, and located in Calle Pablo Neruda.
The budget of the work amounts to 1,436,573.18 euros, and are executed by the company Steel Framing, SL, with a lead time of 18 months.
The total area of 2282.56 m2 will be built, distributed in different buildings, elevations around the sports ground, and a covered area.
The main building will consist of three storeys, to be distributed: garage, room facilities, two warehouses, eight offices, industrial kitchen, dining room, pantry, cold storage, eight multipurpose rooms to develop activities and workshops of the Day Centre ; four offices equipped to carry out the individualized attention, three rooms for group care, five toilets and two files.
In the second block is located the locker room.
Finally, there shall be a covered area without walls, whose function is to perform some of the group therapies, body, outdoors.
This project aims to efficiently serve 100 seats in center, with which cover the most immediate basic needs of the group of people with chronic mental illness AFESMO attending to work its stabilization and / or recovery through services offered by the association, including workshops, individual and group therapy, dining, transportation, etc.
