Regional Consumer Fair is held in Molina de Segura from Monday 15 to Thursday 18 March (12/03/2010)

On the occasion of World Consumer Rights, the City of Molina de Segura, through the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia, through the General Directorate of Citizen Services, drug addiction and consumption, have organized several events to celebrate, most notably the Regional Fair Consumer Molina de Segura, which will take place from Monday 15 to Thursday 18 March.

The opening ceremony of the Consumer Fair will be held on Tuesday 16 March, at 11.00 pm in the marquee on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Attending the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, the Director General of Citizen Services, Addictions and Consumption in the Region of Murcia, Juan Manuel Ruiz Ros, and Consumer Councillor, Estrella Perez Zafra.

Earlier on Monday, March 15 at 18:30 pm in the tent at the fair, the event will take awards Drawing Contest on Responsible Consumption.

World Day campaign under the motto for a Responsible Consumption, focuses its activities in the town of Molina de Segura, in order to influence the mechanisms and resources available to consumers and users of the Region of Murcia to protect their interests and rights.

Another aim is to educate consumers and users about the impact of their consumption habits in their natural context.

"From the Department of Consumer Molina de Segura understand that consumption can have a positive effect on our environment if we can develop our social responsibility to consumers," said Estrella Perez Zafra.

The councilor said that "traditionally, citizens hold governments and organizations to develop actions to protect their rights as consumers and users.

From this perspective, apply to be beneficiaries of this protective action as provided by law.

However, the consumer may also be a beneficiary of the politics of consumption, is also benefactor.

Therefore, and to bring these proposals citizens have organized a series of activities to develop these guidelines socially responsible and solidarity, which are the following:

- RESPONSIBLE CONSUMER FAIR (from 15 to 18 March in tent in Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Molina de Segura).

Hours: Monday from 17.30 to 20.30 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10.00 to 14.00 and from 17.30 to 20.30.

The 19 stands will be filled by consumer organizations, social action organizations and various consumption-related sectors, to present their ideas, activities, daily work, etc. On Responsible Consumption and United.

The institutions and organizations invited are: consumer associations in the Region of Murcia, associations of consumers of organic products, associations of vulnerable groups (persons with disabilities, people at risk of social exclusion) that sell products to fund charity projects and action social enterprises linked to the consumption of services, local trading companies, conservation organizations and research Fair Trade associations, and government agencies and consumer protection.

Most of them have published material and activities for children and adults to develop freely in their respective spaces.

The competition is organized in Primary Schools.

The awards ceremony will take place on Monday March 15th at 18:30 pm in the tent of the Fair (in Plaza del Ayuntamiento).

- Seminars and workshops on Responsible Consumption and Consumer Rights

The activity takes place in schools and addresses the dual perspective of action to consume (consumption charge): consumer as a beneficiary of social action (addressing their rights), and consumer welfare (addressing responsible consumption.)

- Consumer Information Dissemination Manager

Editing a brochure on the World Consumer Day, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and presence in the media locally and regionally.
