The Mayor submitted to the Board of Spokesmen several reports (15/03/2010)

The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, has informed the Board of Spokesmen molinense Hall, Monday March 15, on reports received from various public bodies that certify that all work carried out by the inherited Irrigation Molina de Segura through the Plan for Modernization of Irrigation have been properly justified.

"These reports, which have asked the City Council to shed light on this subject, belie the false accusations made in recent months by an irrigation sector that put into question the work performed on the same grounds duplication.

For this reason, I wanted to move the spokespersons of the city all the data that attest to the clarity of the accounts and the proper conduct of all public administrations involved in the works, "said the Mayor.

The inherited Irrigation of Molina de Segura has an area of 1,884 ha for growing stone fruit, vegetable and citrus, and a maximum annual volume for irrigation of 12,262,956 m3 and 42,960 m3 for industrial use.

The irrigation community is undergoing a process of modernization of irrigation systems, involving the various administrations, through direct investment from the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, cooperation agreements between it and the Sociedad Estatal de Infraestructuras Agrarias SL (SEIASA ) Southern and Eastern ACUAMED the Segura basin (Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine), finally, through subsidies to irrigation communities, benefiting from the help lines of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water.

ACUAMED The report detailed that the company conducts state, currently, several major infrastructure projects of the Plan for Modernization of Irrigation Irrigation for inheriting the Acequia Mayor of Molina de Segura, under an agreement signed in 2007 and not includes direct financial transfers to the community of irrigators.

Therefore, the works are carried out and paid for directly by ACUAMED.

For its part, South and East SEIASA, SA, signed an agreement with the inherited Irrigation in 2001, according to which the works are funded and implemented directly by the state society, while the irrigation community has not received any direct grant thereof.

These works are partly financed by European funds (EAGGF Guidance), but these funds are managed by SEIASA South and East, SA

As for the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, the investments made by it have made direct investments, where irrigators have been made available to the Ministry of land, and the works have been executed by contractors.

Once completed, have been delivered to the irrigation community for its exploitation and conservation.

These works have been executed in three phases, and the last one is being completed today.

In addition, the Ministry has funded a 27.71% (EUR 2,480,810.08) another series of works carried out directly by the inherited Irrigation, to perfect what has been done on investments.

These works have involved a total investment of 8,954,020.38 euros.

Grants have been awarded four grants (2002, 2004, 2006 and 2007) and were entered into the accounts of the irrigation community.
