The Department of Environment World Day for Forest (18/03/2010)

Scented gardens will be created in schools The Trap, La Purisima and French School

On the occasion of the celebration, on Sunday 21 March, the World Forestry Day, several schools in Molina de Segura attached to the Green Schools Project, sponsored by the Environmental Education Service of the Department of Environment of the City molinense, number of activities awareness, such as creating fragrant gardens.

Approximately 400 students planted nearly a hundred indigenous aromatic plants such as lavender, sage, rosemary, etc..

Also there will be activities to raise awareness of the importance of preserving these plant species, learn to value them and know them.

Participating centers and schedule of activities is as follows:

Monday 22 March at the CP The Trap, 12.00 h.

Tuesday, March 23, the CP La Purisima de El Llano, 12.00 h.

Thursday 25 March in the French School Altorreal at 10.00 h.

Workers collaborate in these activities of the Brigade's Environmental Department of the Environment, which have conditioned spaces for planting and provide support for development activities.

In addition to the aforementioned centers, in other centers attached to Green Schools are doing other activities such as planting and green areas conditioning center and creating space for conducting environmental education activities (in the Vega del Segura CEIP La Ribera de Molina), and creation of an area to develop a school garden project (in the CEIP Tierno Galván).

Also noteworthy in the World Forestry Day initiatives from institutions and associations capable of mobilizing citizens around environmental protection, as in the case of the Bank of Altorreal Urban, who last March 13 conducted a planting activity and sensitization to the residents of the development.
