The Governing Council has approved the granting of separate grants for the Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness Molina (Afesmo) and the Association of Parents of Mentally Handicapped, Physical and Sensory Prometheus, worth EUR 300,000 and 80,000, respectively, to finance the construction of a center for each of these associations.
The grant for Afesmo is for the construction and equipping of a Day Centre in Molina de Segura dedicated to health care for people with chronic mental illness and would have a hundred places.
This is the second phase of a project that was funded in 2009 with another 300,000 euros from the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration, and has a total budget of 1,436,573 euros.
In the case of the association Prometheus, the allocation is for the third and final phase of construction of a Multipurpose Center for Persons with Disabilities, located in the municipality of Torre Pacheco, which is part of a project that the Ministry has funded with a total of 350,000 euros over three years.
