Spring 2010 Book Molina de Segura is celebrated from April 15 to May 3 (14/04/2010)

The bases of the VII Prize for Best Book Setenil stories published in Spain and the program activities of the Spring 2010 Book of Molina de Segura, programmed by the culture department of the City of Molina de Segura, were presented at a press conference Wednesday April 14, by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and the Councillor of Culture, Mariola Martinez Robles.

VII Setenil The Best Book Award for short stories published in Spain, worth 12,000 euros for the winner, is one of the few awards of its kind in Spain, and has among its objectives to promote the literary genre of the story, often undervalued in our country against the novel.

Eligible for the prize collections of short stories published in Spain between April 23, 2009 and April 22, 2010.

This year's jury is chaired by writer Andrew Neuman, Alfaguara Prize winner of the last novel, and will also accompany the author Maria Dueñas, and literary critic Ramón Jiménez Madrid.

The previous winners were Alberto Mendez, for The Blind Sunflowers, Juan Pedro Aparicio, and white life, Cristina Fernandez Cubas, Kinship poor devil, Sergi Pamies, if you eat a lemon without making faces, Oscar Esquivias by Mark Crete and Fernando Clement, due to stagnation of the Chiado.

The Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, in order to help reinforce the recognition of the story as a literary genre in our country, announces the VII PRIZE SETENIL 2010, aimed at rewarding the best book of short stories published in Spain in the period The covered call, in accordance with the following

BASES

I.

May attend the VII PRIZE SETENIL stories in books that the following characteristics:

Books must have been published between the dates of April 23, 2009 (Book Day) and April 22, 2010, meaning that publication date where the process is completed book production (printing and binding).

It must be collections of stories by a single author, and a Spanish national.

While they may have originally been published in any official language of the Spanish State shall be submitted to this competition in the Spanish language edition.

In the case of works originally written in languages other than Castilian state, date to be considered will be the publication of the translated work.

The decision on what is or is not a "story book" is solely the jury.

May not participate books that are reprints of earlier, or anthologies of short stories already published in book form.

However, collections are allowed when the stories have appeared only in magazines.

II.

May submit books vying for the award as editors directly, as any natural or legal person, enclosing:

Two copies of each of the books presented, that once the process become the property of the City of Molina de Segura funds to enrich its network of public libraries.

A statement signed by the sender in which is stated: that the book production process has been completed within the dates specified in paragraph I, and the author is Spanish.

III.

Proposals must be submitted to the Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, Building The Catch, c / Mayor, 81, 30500 Molina de Segura, with the words "Setenil Award."

IV.

The deadline for submission of copies will end on June 30, 2010.

V.

Establishing a single, indivisible prize amounting to 12,000 euros for the winning author.

The prize can not be declared void.

VI.

The City of Molina de Segura publish a handout containing a sample of the winning-whether one or more stories, or a fragment, "and will be distributed on a non-venal among publishers, critics, writers, universities and related institutions with the book across the country.

VII.

The decision procedure is as follows:

A screening committee will select a maximum of 10 books finalists from all entries.

The senders of the selected films must submit two additional copies to the organization.

A jury appointed by the Department of Culture, and composed of key figures in the world of letters that have particular relevance to the genre of storytelling, will meet in October 2010 to issue a ruling, which was communicated to the winning author and the publisher.

VIII.

The award will be presented at a public event to be held in Molina de Segura in December 2010 with assistance from members of the jury and will be preceded by a meeting with readers.

It will be inexcusable authorial presence that the prize awarded to become effective.

IX.

Any subsequent republication of the winning entry will be written reference that reads "VII Setenil Award 2009.

The City Council may be freely reproduced in any form winning book cover and a portion of it in the handout referred to the sixth base.

X.

The mere act of participating in this competition implies acceptance of these rules and the jury's decision, which will be final.
