Molina de Segura UPyD insists denounce the continued budget cuts that the city of Molina de Segura is applied to the municipal social services, and which faced since the beginning of the year, various programs and specialized care, such as School Parents or counseling program for women victims of gender violence.
One of the last cuts was the elimination of the consultation service of ATS in the Social Centre premises Barrio del Carmen, citing lack of budget and jurisdictional capacity of the municipal social services in this type of care.
However, the service is still justifying and maintaining the districts of Molina de Segura.
UPyD already complained publicly last January different cuts affecting, among other things, reducing the working hours of municipal team of psychologists.
In this sense, UPyD want to call attention to the failure of the Consistory of some of the commitments and obligations under the collaboration agreement signed with the Autonomous Region in psychological care to victims of gender violence.
Under this Convention, the staff engaged for this purpose (psychologists, social workers and attorney) must complete a minimum of 65 hours per week.
For psychologists, the journey should be 35 hours per week.
UPyD also insists on recognizing the exemplary work done so far by the team of social workers and psychologists in the town, waiting for the commitment and support of the council are effectively at the level of professionalism that these workers have shown.
