The Grouping of Civil Protection Volunteers of the City of Molina de Segura has been named Honorary Member of the Infant Mesnado Juan Manuel, "for its prestige and for having contributed in a very important way towards the Molinense citizenship in the tragic days of the DANA last September. "
The title of Honorary Member was delivered yesterday, Wednesday, January 8, at the headquarters of the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers, located in the Polígono de la Serreta, by the President of the Mesnada, José Joaquín Expósito, to the Councilor of Local Police, Citizen Security and Civil Protection, Julia Fernández Castro, the Head of the Association, Jesús Sánchez-Quevedo González and the Team Leader, José Antonio Salar Campillo.
The month of September of last year 2019 Molina de Segura, like other municipalities in the Region of Murcia, suffered the atmospheric phenomenon known as DANAde red level.
The Department of Civil Protection, from the moment it was informed by the Chief of Operations of 112 of the Region of Murcia of the existence and virulence of the DANA, activated the Municipal Emergency Plan.
The Plan Advisory Committee, chaired by the Mayor, Esther Clavero Mira, met and the first preventive and urgent measures were adopted.
The Department of Civil Protection participated actively from the beginning and activated the Volunteer Association of Molina de Segura, which had more than a dozen troops in full operation during those days.
Among the activities carried out, before, during and after, was the coordination of the catastrophe, notices to the population, support to firefighters in rescue and rescue of those affected, reinforcement to Local Police in cuts of roads and roads, evacuation of people, management of accommodation for evacuees, household bilge, garages and lots, cleaning of homes, recruitment and coordination of volunteers for recovery work, among other actions.
