The VII Villa de Molina 2020 Young Interpreters Contest, organized by the Department of Culture and Youth of the City of Molina de Segura and the Federation of Young Interpreters Villa de Molina, has been presented at a press conference, today Monday, January 20, by the Councilor for Culture and Youth, Soledad Nortes Navarro, the Artistic Director of the Contest, Virginia Martínez Fernández, and the Coordinator of the Organizing Committee of the contest, José Fernández Lozano.
Since the last edition the organizers of the contest are grouped in the Federation of Young Performers Villa de Molina Contest and are: Virginia Baton Association, Molina de Segura Pro Music Association, Hims Mola Municipal Polyphonic Choir, Molina de Segura Band Music Association, and Chamber Orchestra of Molina de Segura.
They also have the collaboration of the Molinense City Council and the Conservatory of Music Maestro Jaime López.
The registration period is open until next February 4.
The event is organized to reward the most talented young musician in the Region and the best instrumentalists in the piano, string, woodwind, metalwind, percussion and guitar modalities.

In addition, the winners of the respective prizes of the different modalities and levels of education, will have the possibility of participating in concerts promoted by the organizing Federation of the VII Young Interpreters Contest Villa de Molina 2020. The concerts, depending on the modality, will be held with the Hims Mola Chamber Orchestra, the Molina de Segura Pro Music Association, the Municipal Music Band, the Virginia Baton Association and the Jaime López Master Professional Music Conservatory.
The contest is biennial and has been convened since 2008 in order to promote music, youth and artistic talent.
In the first edition of the contest there were 25 participants and in the last one there were 128.
The contest has the collaboration of 55 companies and entities of the Region of Murcia that are committed to culture and youth.
The tests of the previous and final phases will take place between the months of February and May 2020 at the Virginia Martínez Fernández Auditorium (at MUDEM), while the final gala and awards ceremony will be held at the Villa de Molina Theater on the 22nd May 2020, at 9:00 p.m.
The artistic direction of the contest is in charge of Virginia Martínez Fernández, director of the Molinense orchestra, head of the Youth Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia.
Since its inception, the contest promotes the participation of all stages of the training of young musicians: Elementary, Professional and Higher Education.
