The City of Molina de Segura replaces plastic bottles with glass bottles in the municipal plenary sessions (24/01/2020)

The City of Molina de Segura, in its commitment to the environment and sustainability, in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals, replaces the plastic bottles of the Plenary with glass bottles, starting next January 27.

"There are many harmful consequences of the use of plastic for the ecosystem and it is everyone's responsibility to reduce its use. Living without plastic is a real challenge, a very difficult goal to achieve. However, there are reports that warn of that avoiding only bags and bottles of water can eliminate between 70 and 90% of waste, "says the Councilor for Municipal Services and Public Building Management, Sandra Díez Calderero.

From the Department of Municipal Services, and in collaboration with Sercomosa, each of the 25 councilors and councilors who make up the Molina de Segura City Council Plenary of glass bottles has been endowed in order to make day by day more sustainable the Molinense Consistory.

This measure is intended to raise public awareness for the progressive reduction of plastic waste with a symbolic gesture against the newly declared Climate Emergency.

"Like any other environmental problem, it requires local actions, of which the City of Molina de Segura should not be foreign. We are aware that the road is long and, therefore, we have many more actions planned in this regard. These are small gestures that help us become aware, those that change the world and improve people's lives, "concludes Sandra Díez.
