The Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, in collaboration with the Conservatory of Dance of Murcia and five dance academies of the municipality, organizes the first Molina de Segura Conference, city of Dance, which will take place on Friday, February 21, at the Virginia Martínez Fernández Auditorium, at MUDEM, and on Saturday, February 22, at the Villa de Molina Theater.
The initiative was presented at a press conference on Wednesday, February 19 by the Councilor for Culture, Soledad Nortes Navarro, the Director of the Dance Conservatory of Murcia, Teresa Souan Bernal, and the Director of the Dance Academy Mª José Martínez, of Molina de Segura, Mª José Martínez Vicente.
Molina de Segura is a city with a great love for dance.
There are many academies that, with great care and professionalism, have long been responsible for serving and nurturing this interest.
In response to this persistent social demand, the Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura has scheduled, under the technical direction of the Conservatory of Dance of Murcia, these I Conference Molina de Segura, city of Dance, which will gather an unbeatable cast of Dance professionals: directors of conservatories, authorized dance centers and academies, representatives of public administrations, programming and entertainment professionals, professional counselors, technical staff, etc.
Together with the most strictly formative part, attendees will be able to enjoy, on Friday night, February 21, a dance show of international level (classical, Spanish, contemporary and flamenco) and, on the morning of Saturday 22, witness a master class taught by Eva López Crebillén, Director of the Superior Dance Conservatory of Madrid María de Ávila.
Its purposes are many and of a very varied nature: first, to contribute to the promotion, mainly among Moline citizens, of this appreciated artistic modality;
Giving visibility and highlighting the work done in the city by dance professionals and practitioners is a second relevant objective;
thirdly, to collaborate with the local entities, and with other institutions of regional and national scope, in the improvement of the technical qualification of the professionals and the students of said specialty;
and, finally, to create a public space for reflection and debate on some issues of interest closely related to the field of dance (regulated, concerted and unregulated training of dance, role of the different administrations in the promotion and consolidation of the public education offer of dance, specificity and peculiarities of the programming of this artistic modality, career management and professional outings in the field of dance, among others).
