The activity was presented at a press conference, today, Friday, February 21, at the Consistory of Moline, by the Councilor for Gender Equality and Violence, Montserrat Montanos Villegas, the Councilor for Sports and Health, Miguel Ángel Cantero García, the President of the Kickboxing Federation of the Region of Murcia and Vicanam Club Manager, Ana María Hernández López, the police personal defense instructor, Eduardo López Jiménez, and the Kickboxing Federation Coach, Victor Manuel Sánchez Rosauro.

The reasons why every woman should practice self-defense are several: she promotes personal autonomy;

win in confidence and security;

increase self-esteem;

it will change the way you see things;

far away will be fears and fears;

and learn to defend himself.

The goal of the self-defense course for women is to be able to go outside without any fear of possible aggression.

This course is designed to help you get rid of your aggressor and be able to ask for help.

Causing damage to the attacker is not among the priorities of the defense, although as a result of the application of its techniques on it it can allow enough time to escape.

This is very important as it will be the essence of the philosophy of self defense.

In general, the techniques are aimed at turning an enemy's attack into a blow for him, escaping in case they are imprisoned, and avoiding possible blows.

Self-defense classes rely heavily on repetition of techniques.

The idea is that they assimilate them, that they internalize them to such an extent that, in case of aggression, they can instinctively apply them, without having to stop to think "if you take me from the left arm I have to turn right and ...".

Action and immediate reaction.

The self-defense course is intended to be practical, intuitive, simple and easy to apply.

These are the keys to a good self-defense system, helping women victims of gender violence or, simply, women who want to feel safe to have basic notions to defend themselves, but also to gain self-esteem.

They are taught blunt techniques aimed at certain points of the anatomy that, when hit, leave the aggressor unconscious or, for example, disable one of his legs to be able to dodged and run away.

It is not about applying force, but science, strategy, and acting by surprise, quickly and explosively.

The instructors are Eduardo López Jiménez and Ana María Hernández López.

Registrations must be made at the email address yosolamedefiendo.vicanam@gmail.com (those under 14 to 17 years old, with parental / maternal authorization).

Certificate of attendance will be delivered.
