At the request of the Councilor for Sports and Health, Miguel Ángel Cantero García, the Community Health Commission of Molina de Segura has issued a report in response to the joint brief of the 4 unions of the City of Molina de Segura (CSIF, CCOO, SIME and UGT ) where they urgently requested that all workers be provided with FFP2 masks, gloves and fixed or mobile separation screens to prevent exposures to COVID-19 (also known as coronaviruses).

In this report, the Community Health Commission, Coordinated by Dr. Mario Soler Torroja, of the Jesús Marín de Molina de Segura Health Center, recommends that the indications of the competent bodies be followed and in this case of the Ministry of Health and the General Directorate of Public Health of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.

According to the report issued, the Commission considers that the adoption of protection measures that are not currently recommended by the competent bodies, such as the use of masks by municipal workers, can generate fear and unjustified social alarm that generate suffering in citizens and, with it, a decrease in their health.

The Community Health Commission of Molina de Segura was established in April 2008 at the initiative of health centers with the aim of promoting health in the municipality, through intersectoral actions with citizen participation, trying to improve their social determinants .

It is formed by professionals from the municipal health centers, technicians from various departments, neighbors of Molina de Segura and members of numerous citizen associations and NGO members of the municipality.

The Councilor for Health also requested a report from the Ministry of Health, which immediately and through its Director General of Public Health, José Carlos Vicente López, transmitted the message of tranquility, since "to date there have been no cases in our region and we have to follow the indicated protocol, which only indicates special precautions in healthcare professionals and recommendations for public employees. "

Miguel Ángel Cantero wishes to thank the Community Health Commission and the General Directorate of Public Health for their sensitivity and quick response to the concern that this new disease is generating in the population.
