Changes in the programming of municipal activities as a prevention measure against COVID-19 (11/03/2020)

The First Deputy Mayor recalls that, until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, no case of those affected by the coronavirus has been detected in Molina de Segura, and that the City Council will continue to be informed daily about new measures and developments in the municipal website www.molinadesegura.es and its social media profiles

Since Tuesday, the municipality has a Monitoring Committee of COVID-19, established to coordinate and articulate actions of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia against the coronavirus, both regarding the population and public employees of the Consistory

The City of Molina de Segura has made changes in the programming of activities planned in the next few days in the municipality as a preventive measure against COVID-19, as reported by the spokesman of the Municipal Monitoring Committee of COVID-19 in Molina de Segura, the First Deputy Mayor, Ángel Navarro García.

Until now, the activities affected are the following:

The Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, following the instructions of the General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions and the recommendations of the General Directorate of Sports, has postponed all competitions planned for the next two weeks.

Among these competitions is the II Vía Crucis 2020 Charity Race, scheduled for next Sunday, March 15, in the Molinense district of La Torrealta, which is postponed to a later date not yet determined.

For its part, the Cycling Federation of the Region of Murcia, following the same instructions and recommendations, has postponed until now the Cycling Gala of the Region of Murcia to the sports merits 2019, scheduled for next Wednesday, March 18, at the Villa de Molina Theater.

Two acts are canceled from the Municipal Business Office:

Internationalization Day, scheduled for Thursday, March 12, at MUDEM, is postponed to Wednesday, April 29, in the same place.

Talk about New Dynamic Electronic Bidding Platform, scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, is canceled.

According to the data provided by the Department of Sports and Health, at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11, no Molinean citizen has tested positive for COVID-19 and Molina Hospital has not admitted any patient with COVID-19.

The First Deputy Mayor, Angel Navarro, said that the City of Molina de Segura will continue to report daily on new measures and news through press releases, which will be published on the municipal website www.molinadesegura.es and in the profiles Municipal social networks.

Molina de Segura has, as of Tuesday, March 10, a Municipal Monitoring Committee of COVID-19 in Molina de Segura, constituted with the objective of coordinating and articulating the actions of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia against the coronavirus in the municipality, both regarding the population and public employees of the Consistory.

Chaired by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the new committee is made up of representatives of the departments of Sports and Health, Citizen Security, Social Welfare and Human Resources, of the City Health and Safety Committee, the Community Health Commission from Molina de Segura, from the National Police Station in the municipality and from the Press Office, as well as by the spokespersons of all municipal groups represented in the Molinense Consistory.

The Municipal Monitoring Committee of COVID-19 in Molina de Segura carries out the coordination and articulation of the actions of the highest competent bodies in public health (General State Administration and Autonomous Administration) in the municipality, directed both externally to the citizen protection of the population in general and, internally, to the protection of the local government's own resources (public employees of the City Council).

The City Council reminds the public that the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia has made available a telephone number of information about the coronavirus, 900 12 12 12, available from 08.00 to 20.00 hours.
