The City Council of Molina de Segura and Sercomosa carry out shock cleaning and disinfection on public roads, public buildings, parks and gardens, and waste containers to prevent the expansion of COVID-19 (18/03/2020)

The First Deputy Mayor of Molina de Segura and spokesman for the Municipal Monitoring Committee of COVID-19 in the municipality, Ángel Navarro García, reported, today Wednesday, March 18, that, from the Department of Municipal Services and Public Buildings, proceeded to close all municipal offices established by Royal Decree 463/2020 of March 14, declaring the state of alarm for the management of the health crisis situation caused by COVID-19, which determines as motivation priority "protect the health and safety of citizens, contain the progression of the disease and strengthen the public health system."

Given this situation, facilitating the population to remain at home should be a priority, ensuring personal isolation as far as possible as a preventive measure against the spread of COVID-19 contagion.

For this reason, and with the same objective, from the Department of Municipal Services and Public Buildings, in coordination with the service company Sercomosa, with its more than 300 employees working 100%, the following tasks are carried out:

Public road: cleaning and disinfection of all public roads in the municipal area.

Waste collection service: maintenance of the collection service, as well as the disinfection and cleaning of containers and container areas and reinforcement of collection in areas where establishments are open because they are essential items.

Public buildings: since last Monday, March 16, cleaning and disinfection of nursery schools, public schools, social centers and the rest of municipal buildings and dependencies has been carried out, reinforcing cleaning and disinfection in those buildings that, due to established needs in Royal Decree 463/2020, they have to remain open.

Parks and gardens: cleaning and disinfection of all the parks and gardens of the municipal area, as well as the urban furniture that makes them up.

As well as the emptying for disinfection of municipal sources.

Water supply: in order to maintain the water supply, no water cut will be made for the duration of the alert decree.

The Molinense City Council and Sercomosa report that, to carry out the shock cleaning and disinfection protocol on public roads and in public buildings, as well as in parks and gardens, and waste containers, the bactericidal disinfectant used is recommended by the health authorities and used by the UME (sodium hypochlorite solution).

In no case are they harmful to health.

Both entities also inform the public about the management of domestic waste, both in positive homes or in quarantine for COVID-19 and in homes without positive or quarantine.

The Molina de Segura City Council informs daily about news through press releases, which are published on the municipal website www.molinadesegura.es and on municipal social media profiles.
