Since Saturday, March 28, the medical office located in the hamlet of La Torrealta de Molina de Segura has hosted a new Sample Collection Point for detection of COVID-19 for patients confined at home, launched by the Area Management 6 Vega Media of the Murcian Health Service, as reported by the First Deputy Mayor of the Molina de Segura City Council and spokesperson for the Municipal Monitoring Committee of COVID-19 in the municipality, Ángel Navarro García.

This measure will prevent trips to the Morales Meseguer University Hospital, a reference hospital in the Vega Media.

At this point, samples are collected for the PCR test (not rapid test) for patients from Vega Media, and it works from 08:00 to 20:00, only for patients by appointment, upon request by their doctor, following the established instructions.

In no case will the test be made to the people who come requesting it without an appointment.

This new point follows rigorous measures that minimize risks for everyone, providing a primary service at this time.

It also has an intense disinfection protocol, similar to that of the Molina de Segura and La Alcayna health centers.

However, from the health centers it is estimated that the number of those affected may be higher, since not all people who present symptoms and report it to the health authorities are tested to confirm that they are infected with the coronavirus.

Health workers diagnose them as possible affected by COVID-19 and prescribe home isolation and the rest of the necessary medical recommendations to prevent the spread of the coronavirus to other people both inside and outside their home.

The City Council is responsible for receiving the material and the Murcian Health Service collects it in Molina de Segura and takes it to the hospitals that need it.

The First Deputy Mayor has reminded the citizens of Molina de Segura "that they must continue to bear in mind the maxim of # QuédateenCasa that was launched about fifteen days ago. Although the global figures are worrisome and high, the experts transmit a Hopeful message, when verifying that the contagion rhythm is reducing its growth, undoubtedly as a result of the great effort we are making as a society to overcome the spread of COVID-19. We must not let our guard down, and although we are having the worst moments, We all have to row in the same direction to achieve the objective set by the Government of Spain with the declaration of the State of Alarm. The citizens of Moldova are doing well and must continue to do so. "

Ángel Navarro, Councilor for Social Welfare, recalled that "the City of Molina de Segura does not forget, during this serious health crisis, those people who most need the assistance of municipal Social Services at this time. Like the elderly and with mobility difficulties, and those people in a situation of isolation due to medical prescription, who can access the service for the purchase of basic necessities, and who do not have family support or care for public services. "
