The Department of Social Welfare of the Molina de Segura City Council guarantees the care of 163 minors with dining room scholarships, who cannot attend their educational centers during the State of Alarm by COVID-19, as explained, today Monday, March 30 Ángel Navarro García, the First Deputy Mayor and spokesperson for the Municipal Monitoring Committee of COVID-19 in Molina de Segura.
The current State of Alarm, and the consequent confinement, prevents the attendance of the canteens of school children in educational centers of the municipality and outside it.
Thus, the scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Education, which corresponds to the menus from Monday to Friday, whose daily amount amounts to 5.12 euros, cannot be made effective.
In coordination with the Department of Education and educational centers, the Department of Social Welfare has implemented a management device for school canteen scholarships so that parents or legal guardians can meet the food needs of the scholarship holders. /ace.
These should follow the following steps:
Wait for the Social Services phone call with the communication about the availability of the food purchase check.
Its amount will range between € 102.40 and € 512, depending on the number of children with scholarships.
Collect the food purchase check at the supermarket, which will be duly indicated.
Redeem the food purchase check, proving your identity with ID, residence permit or similar document.
To date Monday, 157 resolutions have been processed for the management of the dining scholarships corresponding to almost all the students of the following CEIPs: San Antonio, Our Lady of Fátima, Cervantes, Tierno Galván, El Romeral, El Sifón, Consolación, Paseo Rosales, Ntra. Sra. De los Remedios, San Miguel, Sagrado Corazón, Vega del Segura and Maestro Francisco Martínez Bernal.
To apply this measure of management of dining room scholarships, the City of Molina de Segura will receive financing amounting to 15,319.04 euros, corresponding to 17 days of dining room and 163 scholarships.
The Molina de Segura City Council, for its part, has considered expanding the amount with its own financing to a total of 16,691.20 euros, for a period of 20 days, also including holidays.
According to Ángel Navarro, Councilor for Social Welfare, "the social services will be present and will act comprehensively in each and every one of the situations of need of the citizens affected by the exceptional situation in which we find ourselves."
Thus, the Department of Social Welfare persists in the intention of offering continuous care and support to the citizens of Molina de Segura and, especially, to the minors in the municipality with scholarships for school canteens who, in the State of Alarm period, they will lack such service.
