The Department of Equality and Gender Violence of Molina de Segura adheres to the national campaign WE ARE WITH YOU, Gender Violence we stand together (30/03/2020)

The City Council of Molina de Segura, at the proposal of the Department of Equality and Gender Violence, adheres to the campaign WE ARE WITH YOU, we are united by Gender Violence, promoted by the Ministry of Equality, as reported by the Councilor for Equality and Gender Violence, Montserrat Montanos Villegas.

The Specialized Care Center for Women Victims of Gender Violence, CAVI, attached to the Department of Equality, continues to provide service during the State of Alarm by COVID-19.

After the approval of Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14, declaring the State of Alarm for the management of the health crisis situation caused by COVID-19, which has led to the house confinement of Spanish society , the Ministry of Equality has promoted a Contingency Plan against gender violence in the face of the COVID-19 crisis.

This plan includes declaring all comprehensive assistance services for victims of gender violence as essential, which means that the operators of essential services must guarantee the normal operation of 24-hour information devices;

emergency response and reception to victims at risk, including women who need to leave the home to guarantee their protection;

and the normal operation of emergency centers, shelters, supervised flats, and safe accommodation for victims.

Home confinement states can increase situations of gender violence.

Therefore, it is necessary to adopt measures to prevent, control and minimize the possible negative consequences of confinement measures on the lives of many of these victims.

Among the measures promoted within this plan is the launch of an institutional campaign, whose main objectives are awareness against gender violence, alerting to situations of violence within homes and awareness of good treatment during the period of confinement. .

During the State of Alarm, generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Service for Attention to Women Victims of Gender Violence, from Molina de Segura, CAVI, continues to pay attention from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 14:00. , on the phone 968 388 536 and on the mobile 619 660 084. As a novelty, it has made available to victims the email of the Department of Equality, equality@molinadesegura.es, where they can send their questions, and from where they can will respond by the service professionals as soon as possible.

CAVI has a multi-professional team, made up of a social worker, a psychologist, an educator and a legal advisor, who work with women in an integral and individualized way.

The Councilor for Equality, Montserrat Montanos Villegas, explained that, "at these delicate times for the entire population, attention to victims of male violence continues to be among our priorities. We are well aware that isolation in the home is not it only increases the risk of women suffering from this scourge, that is why, from this City Council we are committed to maintaining our service throughout the time this state of alarm lasts. "

Montanos recalls that the 016 telephone continues to operate 24 hours a day, every day of the week, and through it, they can advise women victims of gender violence on resources and rights.
