The Horno Museum of the Council and Folklore House of Molina de Segura reopens its doors on Saturday, July 4 (03/07/2020)

| The opening is carried out following the Prevention Protocols of COVID-19 prepared by ICTE | The Molina de Segura City Council, through the Department of Tourism and Culture, provides the service of the Council Furnace and Folklore House to visitors and tourists who pass through the municipality.

Due to the declaration of the state of alarm by COVID-19, he was forced to stop providing this service.

From Saturday, July 4, visits to this Horno del Concejo and Casa del Folclore Museum, located at Calle Cid Campeador, n ° 2, are restored.

This in-person service changes the schedule, being for the month of July: Saturday and Sunday, in the morning, from 11 a.m.

to 2 p.m. This museum space is a unique example of popular architecture from the 17th-18th centuries, located in the Castle District, which was born after the recovery and rehabilitation of the oldest oven in this city: the Castle Oven.

The building maintains its original structure almost entirely, made with the ancient technique of the rammed earth and in which the large dome of its impressive Moorish oven stands out. The museum shows, with interactive means and a very current museography, the most significant aspects of the trade of baker, as well as a sample of the most significant aspects of local folklore.

The rooms of which it consists are: The bread room: where the architecture, history and stories of this oven and its people are discussed. Audiovisual Room: A wraparound audiovisual is projected on the walls and in the extraordinary dome of the oven, the tireless work of the baker, who kneads his bread night after night. Folklore Room: Rounds, rondallas, dances, traditions and sounds come together in this room so that the visitor knows and enjoys the rich folklore of Molina de Segura. Sala del Pozo: the cistern, meeting point for the traditional houses in the garden. For the reopening, the guidelines and recommendations set by the ICTE (Spanish Tourist Quality Institute) have been followed.

Among the security measures adopted are the placement of informative exterior and interior signage on limited capacity and hygiene measures, as well as signage.

It has also been equipped with hydroalcoholic gel. As explained by the Councilor for Tourism, Andrés Martínez Cervantes, "we have expanded the opening of the Tourism Office during the month of July, to offer the information service to visitors who wish, on Saturday morning, to walk the streets of the neighborhood del Castillo, visiting the MUDEM, the Council Oven, the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and / or making purchases in our weekly market.
