MOLINA DE SEGURA, Modern by tradition, a slogan that will accompany the winning logo of the open project competition for the creation of a new corporate image of the Molinense City Council (07/07/2020)

| The town council contracted a few months ago the design of a logo, a slogan and the elaboration of a corporate image manual, which have been presented at a press conference today Tuesday, July 7 in the municipal plenary hall | The Molina de Segura City Council has presented the winning proposal of the open project competition for the creation of a new corporate image of the City Council.

The press conference took place today, Tuesday, July 7, in the municipal Plenary Hall, and was attended by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Information Technology (ICT), Juan Antonio Cantero Nicolás, and the creative director of Grupo Antón Comunicación, the winning company, Susana Antón. At the end of 2019, the City Council published the technical conditions for graphic design professionals to participate in said contest, presenting their proposals until January 2020.

The purpose of the contract was to create a corporate image of the City Council, by designing a logo , a slogan and the preparation of a corporate identity manual that reflects the nature of Molina de Segura.

The amount of the contest is 5,000 euros and the implantation of the logo will have no additional cost. This image will be used in all types of supports and media, such as documents, press, audiovisuals, municipal web portal, billboards, social networks, official vehicles, etc., and all areas and services of the Molinense City Council will incorporate it into their activity.

The slogan and logo do not override the official coat of arms of the municipality.

On the contrary, they reinforce it. As the Mayor explains, "in just four years, we have made a lot of progress in management processes, in the efficiency of the service and in modernization, bringing the services closer to and facilitating the public, in communication.

We had to renew the corporate image, have of a logo that identifies our municipality and that serves, among many other things, to reinforce its attractiveness for tourism, hospitality, and commerce.

In short, for this ongoing process of modernization and progress in which our city is immersed " The new Corporate Identity Manual (available on the municipal website corporate image.molinadesegura.es) includes the constituent elements of the Visual Identity of Molina de Segura.

It establishes the construction guidelines, the use of the fonts and the chromatic applications of the brand.

The consolidation of the new image of Molina de Segura needs special attention to the recommendations set forth in this Manual, as a document that guarantees a unity of criteria in its communication and public dissemination.

The Manual must be, therefore, a living and present tool in all the applications of the corporate brand, and its coexistence with its products.

The guidelines contained in this document are not intended, in any way, to restrict the creativity of the entity,but to be a guide that opens new creative possibilities to communicate your own essence. MOLINA DE SEGURA, Modern by tradition is the slogan chosen to accompany the created logo, which is made up of an iconic-textual set where text and symbol coexist in harmony while being able to function independently.

For the design of the symbol, the winning company was inspired by the Ferris Wheel of the Company, from the 18th century, located in the Parque de la Compañía.

This was used to irrigate the areas, a harvesting system that allowed promoting agricultural development and the revitalization of said environment, and which symbolizes the entrepreneurial spirit and continuous change of Molina de Segura. All these connotations make this symbol an ideal reference to represent the values ??of the municipality.

In addition, the designers wanted it to have a contemporary and synthetic style, so they use geometric shapes to represent the Ferris wheel and the particular square structure that supports it, also taking advantage of the fact that the circular shapes transmit movement, dynamism and entrepreneurship.

Features that are enhanced by the burgundy color of the symbol. For the name they have chosen the Gotham font family, in its Bold version, for Molina de Segura, which appears in two lines, in capital letters and aligned to the left.

This typeface, in the Sans Serif style, is characterized by its smooth and elegant shapes, which give it a friendly and close look.

On the other hand, the texts written in Gotham typography inspire confidence, serenity and respect, favoring the transmission of different messages. The result is a logo that meets the fundamental premises of graphic design in terms of functionality, versatility and readability, responding to the requirements set forth, in addition to promoting a key element for the corporate image and communication of the Molina de Segura City Council. "I have always said," says Esther Clavero, "that one of our greatest conquests as a city, one of our hallmarks, is to know how to combine modernity with tradition.

In the combination of both is, in my opinion, the harmony and wisdom of our progress as a community, our reference to grow, so that we are known and make the most of those values ??of synergy.

The image that we present today contributes to reinforcing that idea.

It comes to value the image that we want to transmit: MODERNITY without giving up the TRADITION I hope that this new image is adopted by all, by our neighbors as a whole, with affection, and that it becomes a benchmark, in identity as a city that is modernizing.
