The Molina de Segura City Council and the ERDF finance training in digital competence to improve access to municipal services (23/07/2020)

130 people have already been trained in these free courses, organized by the Department of Policies for Training and Labor Insertion, within the framework of the Strategy for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Molina 2020 Avanza Contigo, financed 80% by the ERDF In the framework of the Molina 2020 Avanza Contigo Strategy, which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) by 80%, the Department of Policies for Training and Labor Insertion of the Molina de Segura City Council is giving a new edition of the program training in digital skills, this time organized in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare. The objective of this course is the initiation in information and communication technologies (ICT), to facilitate access by citizens to them, through a program designed specifically for people who have no prior knowledge, introducing elementary knowledge of the computer use and Internet browsing. The Councilor for Policies for Labor Training and Insertion, Eliseo García Cantó, explains that "the course aims that people and groups with more difficulties in accessing ICTs start using them, trying to reduce the digital divide, and have the possibility of accessing basic municipal electronic administration services (knowledge of telematic tools such as chat, forums, social networks, e-mail; making requests for services, making an appointment, downloading and filing forms, filing documents, etc.), which they require basic user-level knowledge of how the computer and the Internet works.

" Another objective of this program is that it allows people who take the course to obtain and process information on a computer, using the basic functions of office computer applications and the services and protocols of an Intranet / Internet network, along with other tools for active job search. The courses have a maximum duration of 28 hours and a maximum of 15 participants, being totally free.
