| The campaign's actions, which begin in mid-August, have been adapted to the current circumstances of the health crisis due to COVID-19 and activities involving direct contact with citizens have been avoided | The Department of Environment of the City of Molina de Segura, through the Environmental Education Service, and in collaboration with the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia, ECOEMBES and SERCOMOSA, present a new edition of the campaign "Molina thinks with the lungs, recycles" with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of collaborating in the selective collection of waste to help improve air quality and reduce our contribution to climate change. The actions contemplated in this campaign have been presented, today, Thursday, September 30, by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for the Environment, Mariano Vicente Albaladejo, and the Councilor for Municipal Services, Sandra Diez Calderero. "Molina thinks with the lungs, recycles" aims to educate and sensitize the population about the correct separation of packaging waste in the municipality's yellow (plastic containers, cans and briks) and blue containers (paper and cardboard).
To do this, a series of actions will be carried out aimed at both children and adults, as well as a special presence on social networks. The Department of the Environment has had very much in mind in the design of this campaign that there are moments in which the health of the environment and the health of people take on special relevance, so it is necessary to consolidate the habit of recycling as a contribution to preserving air quality and thus acting actively in the fight against climate change. The actions have been adapted to the current circumstances of the health crisis due to COVID-19 and activities involving direct contact with citizens have been avoided, opting for outdoor advertising through the campaign's mupis, as well as others that recall what kind of waste to deposit in the yellow container and which not, paying special attention in this case to gloves and masks. In addition, the direct mail of an informative brochure to all households is contemplated with which to resolve any doubts that may arise regarding the separation and correct deposit of waste in the containers. The presence in social networks with the publication of weekly content aims to reach an important sector of the population.
And finally, with the collaboration of the municipal radio station Radio Compañía, spots with the campaign messages will be broadcast, monographic programs will be held and an interesting radio contest will be broadcast to check the audience's knowledge of recycling. The social media campaign will be active from mid-August and offline actions (mupis and mailbox) will hit the streets of Molina de Segura from September. The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero, explained that this campaign is absolutely necessary "because the selective collection and recycling of waste, not only seeks to reduce the garbage that can accumulate in our city, but also aims to help improve the quality of the air we breathe.
" The Councilor for the Environment, Mariano Vicente Albaladejo, has also highlighted the importance of campaigns such as "Molina thinks with the lungs, breathes", with which, in 2019, a significant increase in citizen collaboration was achieved in selective separation, with a 20% increase in the contribution and a reduction of the improper percentage of 14.13%. The mayor of Molino has specified that the objective of his Department is to continue implementing awareness-raising actions in Molina de Segura that, in addition to influencing selective collection, remember that avoiding the degradation of the environment and climate change is the responsibility of everyone. The Councilor for the Environment has highlighted the importance of the collaboration of the different entities, companies and municipal services involved in this campaign to give an adequate response to the effort and involvement of citizens with recycling and with care for the environment and the environment.
