The Molina de Segura City Council agrees to new prevention measures in the weekly markets, with the reduction of all stalls to six meters, in order to increase the free space between them to avoid COVID-19 infections (17/09/2020)

| The Mayor has announced that the capacity of 75% occupation of positions is maintained but with less sales area, to facilitate the reduction of contacts | As of today, Thursday, September 17, Molina de Segura maintains 242 active cases, with an accumulated incidence in the last 7 days of 178, which places it in 21st place in incidence among the 45 municipalities of the Region of Murcia The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, presented at a press conference, today Thursday, September 17, in the Municipal Plenary Hall, the updated data on the incidence of the COVID-19 pandemic in the municipality and has announced new measures adopted by the Molina de Segura City Council. The Mayor explained that "as I advanced last week in my last appearance before the media, my intention is to maintain permanent and fluid contact with the public to report the specific situation of the pandemic in our municipality and send the measures that be adopted, as well as always reiterate the prevention measures that we must bear in mind ". As of today, September 17, Molina de Segura maintains 242 active cases, with an accumulated incidence in the last 7 days of 178.

These indices place the municipality in the 21st place of incidence among the 45 municipalities in the Region. Since the start of the second wave on July 16, the municipality has had a constant growth of infections during the first six weeks, which reached its ceiling on August 24, with an increase of 76% in infections.

From that moment, and although the total figures and accumulated indices continue to increase, there is a slowdown in the growth percentages and thus, in the last week, it has fallen to 29% (lower percentage since the beginning of the second wave).

"This has meant that, within the regional figures, we have improved from sixth place in the list of municipalities with the worst accumulated incidents of 7 days at the beginning of August, to position 21 yesterday," Clavero highlights. "Of course, these are good figures but, as I have also said on numerous occasions, this is not a war of numbers, but a situation that worries us and in which we are all immersed in its solution.

That is: we must not relax, but persevere in the prevention message ". The Mayor has indicated that "we have not lost face at any time to the evolution of the pandemic, anticipating ourselves, with measures that, as I have said, could be unpopular, but that have been revealed as absolutely necessary to contain contagions, such as This is how it is being, today, in our municipality.

" "They are many, and very effective, as confirmed by the regional health services, and that have gone from the deep and gradual disinfection of numerous sensitive areas of our city, to the closure of public spaces, through the reinforcement of measures hygiene, safety and prevention in different areas.

Of all these measures we have been punctually realizing, because I believe, I have always believed, that our duty, apart from managing the public, is to keep the community we serve informed.

an exercise of transparency, but also of responsibility ", highlights Clavero. "I have appealed to individual responsibility that, together with ours, managing what is municipal competence, have made that, as I say, today we can present a stable and contained situation of the pandemic in Molina de Segura.

the fact that, since the end of the state of alarm, in this second wave of the pandemic, our municipality has registered 4 deaths.

The last, an 80-year-old neighbor, who lived in El Fenazar.

" At the last meeting of the COVID-19 Technical-Scientific Monitoring Committee, held last Monday, the current situation was analyzed, reaching the conclusion that the continuous messages to the population and the measures adopted were bearing fruit, but " It is time to reinforce these measures in those points where the concentration of people can be dangerous for the spread of contagion, "says the Mayor. Thus, "we have determined new prevention measures in the weekly markets, with the reduction of all stalls to six meters, in order to increase the free space between them, facilitating the reduction of contacts.

We maintain the capacity of 75% occupancy of stalls but, as I say, with less sales area ". On the other hand, access control measures to market spaces are intensified, as well as capacity, reinforcing the presence of the municipal health inspection, Local Police and Civil Protection, as containment and prevention measures, taking measures to the extreme: masks , interpersonal distance and hygiene. "As I already announced to you in the last appearance, we have maximized prevention measures in nursery schools and educational centers of our competence, as well as permanent collaboration with educational centers that are the responsibility of the Autonomous Community, for a safe return to The classrooms.

And so it is.

Local Police, Public Highway services, Sercomosa.

All collaborating for the safety of our schoolchildren.

And, to increase the tranquility of the families, COVID technicians from Molina de Segura collaborate with the educational centers.

It is a team made up of 3 COVID technicians, of the 15 that have been trained for this purpose, which will also be available to the educational community ". "The trip to the Murcian capital to carry out the PCR tests was another of our concerns; therefore, since the beginning of this second wave, we insist on the need to recover the COVID Point in our city.

Thus, after the insistence of the Technical-Scientific Committee and of our City Council, it is already a reality that will avoid displacements to our neighbors who must carry out a PCR for medical prescription, and that will also provide service to other municipalities in the region ", highlights Esther Clavero. The Mayor has indicated "that there is no doubt that we are going to continue working from our area of ??responsibility, so that Molina de Segura has the lowest possible incidence of contagion, and we will continue to adopt the necessary measures, in line with health experts, to stop this pandemic.

I especially want to express a message that I have repeated in recent weeks and that is to avoid social contacts as much as possible.

It is precisely in the family and social sphere where there is a higher incidence of cases ". Finally, "I want to tell you that today is an intense day, because life does not stop.

Today we are supporting hoteliers, professionals and freelancers of Molina de Segura who are making an effort to get ahead.

We are also promoting measures to the local economy and for areas such as culture and sports.

With respect to health regulations.

With prevention and safety.

Life does not stop and we must continue to promote the economy at the same time that we launch a prevention message ", concludes Clavero .
