| The Department of Social Welfare invests a total of 4,961.69 euros in improving the endowment of the centers for the development of activities that promote active aging | The City Council of Molina de Segura, through the Department of Social Welfare, carries out in 2020 the basic provision of the centers for the elderly in the municipality, with a total investment of 4,961.69 euros, with the aim that they join the workshops that are programmed by the Seniors Unit in their dynamization, or as a result of the natural associative coexistence in them.According to the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, "it is evident that the elderly need their own space where they can carry out their activities and this space is the centers for the elderly, which from the Department of Social Welfare we have been dynamizing for five years, centers that they have grown in number to 50%.

At present we already have 19 municipal senior centers; therefore, it is our responsibility as an administration to promote the necessary actions to work with the elderly group in this process of active and quality aging ".As a result of this responsibility, each year the centers are provided with this supply, which allows them to work for the group in four categories of action: training, information, communication and entertainment, all with the general objective of improving the quality of life of the elderly through activities that promote active aging.It is essential, in this project, that each center has a minimum coverage, which corresponds both to the activities that we program to revitalize them, as well as the materials and supplies that each of them need to carry out their activity.The Municipal Ordinance of Territorial Units of Molina de Segura, in its article 1, defends:Channel the growth, development and evolution of each territorial unit in such a way that it provides quality spaces for all citizens, regardless of their social or cultural origin or the place where they resideImplement the compensatory measures that need to be undertaken to achieve a balance in the quality of life of the people of the various and different territorial units.The Elderly Unit of the Department of Social Welfare was born five years ago with the aim of responding to the needs, demands and specificities of the entire group of elderly people in the municipality, in order to improve their quality of life and promote active participation of the elderly in society based on the lines of active aging.

In view of this, the centers are provided annually with the appropriate basic material.There are currently 19 activity groups for the elderly in the municipality of Molina de Segura, located in different neighborhoods and districts, with a different social context.
