The Molina de Segura Civil Protection Health Unit has an ambulance for basic life support as of today (23/09/2020)

| The Civil Protection Department of the Molinense City Council has invested a total of 19,000 euros in the purchase of the vehicle and its equipment, which have been presented in the Plaza de España | The presentation of the ambulance for basic life support and its equipment, acquired by the Molina de Segura City Council for the Civil Protection Health Unit, took place today, Wednesday, September 23, in the Plaza de España.

The Councilor for Civil Protection, Julia Fernández Castro, and the Municipal Civil Protection Technician, Ramón Fernández Rodríguez, attended. The Molina de Segura City Council, through the Civil Protection Department, has invested 19,000 euros in the acquisition of said ambulance, equipped with a biphasic defibrillator monitor, multiparametric monitor with constant and electrocardiogram measurements, medicinal oxygen, immobilization material and patient mobilization, vacuum mattress, spinal board, etc. The ambulance may be activated, always conditioned by the availability of the volunteers, for scheduled services (providing support to the health facilities of the events or activities of other councils), guards (established by the Civil Protection Health Unit and in coordination with the 061) and emergencies (those that due to their urgency and / or necessity require prompt activation).

The Health Unit is made up of different health profiles, such as technicians, nurses and lifeguards, with two managers in charge of ensuring that everything runs efficiently. Until now, the Civil Protection Service had only one rapid intervention vehicle (equipped with medical supplies), prepared for a first assessment and first aid practice, until the arrival of the necessary health services for the transfer of the patient to a hospital center, the last action that can be carried out by this ambulance, following the established health protocols and practicing a better intervention on the patient. With this new acquisition, the Molina de Segura fleet of Civil Protection vehicles has: 1 assistance ambulance, 1 transport van for 9 people, 1 logistics truck, 1 rapid intervention vehicle (off-road), 1 intervention van, 2 motorcycles and an off-road vehicle for flooding and searching for people in forest areas.

All of them located in the Civil Protection Base, in the Polígono de La Serreta. In addition, a specific protocol for the ambulance has been created by the Department of Civil Protection, which aims to inform volunteers of the minimum requirements that they must meet for its use and activation.
