The Alto del Rellano Nature Information Center-Vicente Blanes de Molina de Segura Park invites you to learn about the diversity of landscapes in the northern part of the municipality on Sunday, November 15 (12/11/2020)

| People who visit the center may have information the diversity of geological materials, which make this area of ??Molina de Segura a mosaic of colors and shades of great visual richness | The Alto del Rellano Parque Vicente Blanes de Molina de Segura Nature Information Center opens to the public on Sunday, November 15, at its usual hours, from 10:00 to 14:00.

For this day, the information and visitor reception service proposes, to all those who visit the center, a tour of the Vicente Blanes Park, a natural space managed by the City Council and in which they will be able to learn about the nature and origin of the materials that form the relief of this area and that give it a great variety of colors. To make your visit to this natural environment more complete and enjoyable, all visitors will be provided with informative materials with which they will be able to recognize the different elements of the landscape, as well as a map of the Vicente Blanes Park and the trails that are found in it.

For the little ones, materials will be given with which they will be able to color the landscape and identify the main mountains that surround it. Also from the Alto del Rellano Parque Vicente Blanes Nature Information Center will provide all the necessary information about other signposted routes, such as short-distance or PR trails, which are close to this natural enclave: the Rambla del Chorro (PR MU-72) and the Sendero de la Sierra del Águila (PR MU-73).

In addition, during opening hours, from 10:00 to 14:00, you can visit the permanent exhibition The history of Molina through its fossils. The Alto del Rellano Nature Center and the Vicente Blanes Park are flanked by mountain ranges that determine the climatic characteristics of this area and, therefore, the presence, distribution and growth of the different plant associations of the Park.

This, together with the different nature of the geological materials that make up this area, causes different colors and tones to appear, which make this area of ??the municipality an enclave of great scenic interest.

These materials include sedimentary rock deposits, such as sandstones or marls, formed about 100 million years ago at the bottom of the sea, which give the soils of this area an ocher and yellowish color, predominant in this area.The presence of gypsum from the drying out of old brackish water coastal lagoons, especially on the bottoms of ramblas or on some slopes, splashes the landscape in white or reddish tones.

On this new day, the Councilor for the Environment, Mariano Vicente Albaladejo, wants to "encourage all the residents of Molina de Segura to discover the beauty of these landscapes and how they have originated, as well as highlight the educational and conservation work that from this Nature Center has been carried out in favor of the conservation and enhancement of the rural surroundings of the municipality, making known its environmental, landscape and ethnographic wealth, to preserve this legacy to future generations ".
