The PP asks the local government to freeze the salaries of councilors and positions of trust (18/11/2020)

The president and spokesman for the popular in Molina de Segura, José Ángel Alfonso, asks the Government Team to freeze wages.

This initiative, the PSOE Podemos Government Team, already rejected it in June. The proposal of the popular Molinenses would mean a saving of about € 8000 to the municipal coffers, which should go to the food bank, or other social or charitable organizations. The Popular Party of Molina de Segura has issued a statement this morning, in which its president and spokesman, José Ángel Alfonso, has stated that "from the Popular Party we believe that after the dramatic situation that we Spaniards in general, and the Molinenses in particular, we are the public representatives who must rise to the occasion, and adopt measures that are beneficial to overcome this situation as soon as possible, and with the necessary austerity in relation to the remuneration of politicians.

"The popular spokesman recalled that "last June, we saw how the local PSOE-Podemos government voted in favor of not lowering the salary, demonstrating once again their incoherence between what they do and preach, and the lack of social sensitivity they have, in these difficult moments that we have had to live with COVID-19 ".Alfonso concludes that "it is time to adopt courageous solutions, such as those that have already been taken by the Government of the Murcia Region and the Murcia City Council, tackling the health and economic problem with planning and decision.

For all this we request that the mayor, Esther Clavero, proceeds immediately to freeze the salaries of the entire municipal corporation, and of the positions of trust, means allocating about € 8,000 to the food bank, or other social or charitable organizations ".
