The plant species that are part of the protected area of ??the Salar Gordo are conditioned by several factors: the presence of salt in the soil in which they grow and the semi-arid climate of our Region.

In order to survive in these extreme conditions, they have developed different strategies, which makes these species very interesting organisms.

Some of these species are the soapy or scorpion soda (Arthrocnemum macrostachyum), the Suaeda vera, the salao (Atriplex halimus) or the taray (Tamaris sp.).

An important species in the Lagoons is the reed (Phragmites australis), since the reed beds are particularly important in this natural space, as they are a place of refuge, food and a breeding area for birds.During this opening day, the people who visit this space will be able to discover the main species of birds that use the reed beds as a home.
