Molina Basket participates in the UNB World Team Skills Championship (30/11/2020)

Two Molina Basket teams will take part in the UNB World Team Skills Championship, a world skills championship organized by the United Nations of Basketball (UNB).

This global tournament, which starts next Saturday, has the participation of teams made up of male and female players born in 2004, and clubs from all continents of the world will participate in it.Molina Basket will represent Spain in the female category and in the male category.

The girls' team will be formed mainly by the Bareca MB players, with the reinforcement of the ACG MB girls.

For its part, the men's team will have members of three Molina Basket teams: MobyFish MB, Costa Cálida Promotores MB and Colegio San Jorge MB.The tournament will take place online.

The organization of the UNB will propose challenges that each participant will have to face individually; In each round, the 8 best individual results will be counted for the total score of the team.

The competition includes exercises and challenges that combine different skills, such as ball handling, agility and shooting.

The first phase of the UNB World Team Skills Championship (official name of this event) begins on Saturday, December 5.The Molina Basket teams already know their opponents.

Both the girls and the boys of Molina Basket will face rivals from remote places on different continents, such as Africa, Oceania or Asia.The Molina Basket men's group is made up of nine clubs.

In addition to the Molinenses, the other European participants will be the ProBasketball Group, from Romania, and the Hasketbol Youth, from Turkey.

On the side of Asia, there will be the BEST Center Sports (Philippines), Brainers Basketball Academy (Lebanon), the International Basketball Academy (Taiwan) and Sports 4 Life (Palestine).

The most distant rival will be the Riverside Basketball Club, of Samoa.

The group is completed by Proformance Hawaii (United States).The girls of Molina Basket have been framed in a group formed by seven clubs.

Five of them coincide with the boys' rivals: Proformance from Hawaii, Brainers Basketball from Lebanon, BEST Center Sports from the Philippines, Palestine: Sports 4 Life and Riverside Basketball from Samoa.

They are joined by an African women's ensemble, the Women Foundation of Somalia.This global competition kicks off on December 5 and will last for two weeks.

During those days different individual online tests will be developed.

The best four of each group will access the next phase, which will take place from the 9th.

The final rounds will be held between December 13 and 16.With this event, the UNB seeks to promote basketball worldwide, using this type of friendly competition to strengthen ties of cooperation between countries.

The choice of this tournament format also responds to the hygiene and health requirements derived from the pandemic.

The objective of the United Nations is to propose a game modality that facilitates participation by all countries.
