Carles Manera opens the II Online Conference Innovative societies for cities of the future in Molina de Segura on Thursday, December 3 (02/12/2020)

Presents to the lecturer the President of the CES Region of Murcia,Professor of Civil Law and former rector of the UMU, José Antonio Cobacho. Carles Manera (1957) is Professor of Economic History in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of the Balearic Islands.

He has been Vice-Rector for Economic Planning of the UIB (1996-2003), Minister of Economy, Finance and Innovation of the Government of the Balearic Islands (2007-2011), President of the Economic and Social Council of the Balearic Islands (2017-2020).

He is currently a Director of the Governing Council of the Bank of Spain. He has worked as a researcher and / or professor at the London School of Economics (London), The New School for Social Research (New York), the European University Institute (Florence) and the Technological Universty (Gdansk, Poland), among other institutions.

He is the author of 10 books and 187 research papers published in Impact Journals and in recognized research journals.

His lines of research focus on the development of the tourist economy, economic growth processes and the measurement of the economy with environmental parameters.

He is the Catalonia Prize for Economics, 2003.
